Real Salt Lake played their first game in their new home last night—the Rio Tinto Stadium—in front of a sold out crowd of 20,000. Joe and I threw a little housewarming soirée in XanGo’s new suite. Dwayne and Melody Dyer, Kinau Tollefsen*, Doug Dodson and a host of others shared a historic evening (and some great food). The new stadium has been described as the finest in MLS and it was evident the home fans were proud.
The XanGo nation was well represented throughout the whole venue. Many thanks to all who joined us in wearing team jerseys and yelling at the New York Red Bulls.
Oh yeah, tie game 1-1.
* kudos to Kinau who blazed straight from a meeting at XanGo headquarters and was able to catch the second half.
In June, XanGo President Kent Wood wrote from Guadalajara to share his experience on the first of two Operation Smile missions this year. He witnessed the real extent of global XanGo Goodness.
In the recent follow-up mission, which began two weeks ago and concluded last Friday, more than one hundred additional children in Guadalajara received life-changing cleft lip and cleft palate surgery.
XanGo Director of Americas Erik Patterson and our VP of Public Relations Bob Freeze toured the clinic on September 30, experiencing the palpable feeling of gratitude from the families of the children receiving surgery. Many families expressed their gratitude to XanGo for making their children’s surgery possible.
Bob related one experience that impressed upon him the profound impact that XanGo Goodness is having:
Well, the first Wishmaker Parade marched just this last weekend, raising $35,835 for the Children’s Wish Foundation. More than 200 people came out for the walk to give support to the foundation. United by their big smiles, they walked around the historical streets of the Trait-Carré in Québec City causing a cheerful scene.
XanGo 5K distributor, Francis Gadassi, was the XanGo Team parade leader. He invested an untold amount of personal time and effort into rounding up donations for Children’s Wish, both before and during the parade:
XanGo Taiwan … what a place! The beautiful new offices are not only striking in their design, but were filled with an amazing liveliness on behalf of the distributors when I was there. The energy was absolutely contagious in our early afternoon meeting, where I was honored to address the great group of leaders in the area. This infectious energy carried over into our recognition portion of the meeting. It was so good to be able to recognize the accomplishments of the individuals who have seen such tremendous growth. We probably took enough pictures to fill the entire office space in Taipei!
XanGo World HQ in Lehi is one hoppin’, happenin’ place! Sure, there’s the matter of the industry-shaking Glimpse announcement at the industry-quaking XanGo Overdrive 2008 Convention coming up quick…. But there’s even more:
In addition to housing the 500+ employees dedicated to the success of the world’s greatest distributors, exciting stuff is going on all around us: Weeknight and weekend distributor gatherings take place in our state-of-the-art meeting room, and even amidst the hubbub of Convention prep and filming, Gordon Morton joined distributors one recent Thursday night for a packed-house presentation.
Premier Dominique Degrieck and 20K Danny Wanzeele, from Belgium, stopped in for a visit, as did 500K Art Manville. Utah-based 200Ks Lance & JaNene Schiffman, Tom Ferrier and Jenny & Kauri Thompson; 100Ks John Zenes and Spencer Poch; Premiers Daniela Raynes, John & Kami Herring, and Kinau Tollefsen regularly make the scene.
