In June 2007, XanGo and Operation Kids teamed with NFL Quarterback Drew Brees to help the children and families of New Orleans rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
As we approach the 3-year mark since Hurricane Katrina’s destructive landfall, the $2 million restorative campaign—known as “Rebuilding Dreams in New Orleans” is wrapping up. By next month the project will be completely funded and more than half completed.
When asked for help to get the funding off the ground, XanGo was the first corporate sponsor to get on board. Operation Kids and the Brees Dream Foundation worked hard to identify and fund several reconstruction projects that would make a major impact in the lives of New Orleans kids. These include parks, playground facilities, academic programs, childcare facilities, after-school programs, mentoring programs and athletic facilities.
“XanGo is proud to have partnered in this project that has helped meet the needs of so many children in New Orleans who were affected by Hurricane Katrina,” said Bob Freeze, vice president of public relations at XanGo, LLC. “This initiative is a great example of what can be accomplished when corporations partner with credible charities to make a real difference in the lives of those in need.”
Through corporate donations and private support, the list of completed projects is already long and fulfilling:
Ron and Marlene Brice, 100K Premier Selects, hosted Barbara Schmidt’s SKS Marketing Monday night call earlier this week. Why? Because Barbara (200K Select) was a guest speaker for a meeting Bob and Grace Dyck (also 200Ks) were hosting in Vancouver, Canada.
Marlene welcomed the call while Ron was dialing in from a packed meeting room of energetic leaders. The call was so packed that I could not get on … it was that busy! Marlene ended up having to connect me. The energy of the call was so great. Ron interviewed me at the beginning and continued with a fantastic training. Well done, Ron and Marlene. Thanks for involving me in the experience. I loved it.
My Dad once asked me the rhetorical question: “When’s the best time to tell your wife that you love her?” Knowing it was loaded question, I waited. His answer: “Before someone else does.” His advice to me that day was to always tell your wife you love her AND never miss the opportunity to say “thank you.”
That said, I’d like to offer a big thank you to the good folks in Houston, Texas and Vancouver, BC for their warm hospitality this past week. I had the opportunity to visit both cities and was greeted with warm smiles and enthusiastic crowds.
It’s been a little quiet on the XANGOSPHERE lately, as everyone at Headquarters is busy building another jaw-dropping Convention (seriously, you might want to tie something under your chin this November to keep your jaw from hitting the floor). But we still want to keep you informed, so here’s another exceptional piece of news for you 5Ks:
As you know, our 6th Anniversary Convention is going to be bigger and better than ever. And, since we want you and your entire XanGo organization to be there, we’ve got a special offer just for 5K distributors in order to make that happen. This year you can offer $150 Convention tickets to the attendees of your private distributor Meetings for the price of $100!

As we approach XanGo’s 6th Anniversary Convention—November 5–8 in Salt Lake City, Utah—I ask you to consider the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games as a launching pad for you to strive for Olympian business-class excellence.
Leverage this time to increase your level of training and preparation to raise your performance to be a XanGo Olympian. When I meet you personally at Convention in November, I will share with you a story of going from recreational skier to the Olympics in just four years.
Let’s join in our journey from ordinary to extraordinary. We will focus on how to thrive better and faster with my presentation: The Age of Speed.
As you watch the Olympics, keep these principles in mind for your own business:
